The
Tonya™ Lift
Why did we redesign the boom arm of the
Tonya™ lift?
It works better! As mentioned before, the new boom arm looks a
bit like an elephant trunk that kids love! But the real purpose
of the new bend is not only to reach hard-to-reach places, but to also
assure that the child can be successfully maneuvered and repositioned while
the lifting arm is at peak height. The multicolored frame is
much warmer and children find them quite attractive.
The purpose of redesigning a patient
positioner for the TonyaTM lift is for a better fit for the
smaller slings. Child sized slings do not fit correctly onto
adult size patient positioners. When an extra small sling is
attached to an adult size patient positioner it becomes stretched too
tightly, therefore, not correctly conforming to a child's body.
On the other hand, the child size patient positioner can be used for adults! For example, the sling is able to grip
the patient more tightly during the pants removal process.
