Overview
The primary classes of lifts are:
 |
Floor (Rolling) Model Lifts |
 | Ceiling Lifts |
Floor model lifts roll on casters and are designed to
perform different functions. Floor model
lifts have many features to assist the caregiver and provide comfort to the
patient.
Floor Model Lift
Benefits:
 | Our floor lifts use industrial
casters to facilitate rolling on uneven surfaces. |
 | Floor model lifts are available for
special lifting applications. For example, the
All In One or Sit to Stand
lifts are sit-to-stand lifts. The
All In One or TotaLift lifts feature the ability to lower
completely to the floor, allowing therapy or patient pick up after a fall. |
 | Our floor model lifts have a range of features such
as superior lifting height, lift leg spreading and multiple models
to handle different patient weights.
|
Ceiling lifts run on "tracks" installed in the ceiling of
your home/facility. They are the most versatile, convenient and least
obtrusive types of lifts. Within the ceiling lift class of lift, there
are installed lifts and portable lifts. Ceiling lifts are easy to use,
safe and the least cumbersome to use of all lift types.
Ceiling Lift Benefits:
 | Patient moves freely on the ceiling lift track with
little, if any, exertion. Powered movement on the track is
available. |
 | Ceiling Lifts do not take up floor space and do not
require turning space. No need to move furniture. Can
pass through narrow passage ways and around corners. |
 | Ceiling lifts are out of the way, when not in use.
When you're not using your ceiling lift, the lift can be powered to an out
of the way location. Only the unobtrusive track is then visible to
your guests. |
 | Ceiling lifts do not have "legs" so they can go over
things a rolling lift could not, such as tubs, beds without under-bed
space, etc. |
 | Ceiling Lifts can fit in small bathrooms, bedrooms,
etc. and can be installed over pools or hot tubs. |
 | Lift can be performed by one caregiver, without
caregiver injury/strain. |
 | More patient moves can be accomplished due to ease of
lifting. |
 | Creative track configurations can give the patient
access to any part of their home or a facility. |
 | Portable ceiling lift can be used in multiple
locations. |
