Overview
Dragon NaturallySpeaking® Public Safety Solutions speech
recognition software is a powerful productivity tool that enables public
safety professionals to work faster and more efficiently. Speak, and your
words appear on screen and in letters, reports, and forms.
Users reduce overhead,
overtime, and stress by dictating notes and documents directly into
a PC or hand-held recorder (purchased separately) and streamlining their
workflow using speech.
Dictate investigation reports, interview summaries, and other documents;
fill-in forms; send e-mail; and work on the Web-all by voice! Perform
complex tasks on your computer with a spoken word or phrase, customize your
vocabulary and commands to match your workflow, listen to incoming e-mail
and documents read aloud, and much more.
Create your own documents on the spot or
send your recorded dictation to be transcribed elsewhere.

Solutions is an ideal tool
for the over 2 million public safety professionals in
the US and Canada. Targeted agencies include local, state, county, and
federal law enforcement agencies; college and university police; housing and
transit authorities; office, hospital, retail, and residential guards;
private security agencies; and others. Police chiefs, sheriffs,
commissioners, agency presidents, bureau chiefs are typically the decision

create or import custom vocabularies for different specialties or

Can the vocabulary be customized? NaturallySpeaking®
Public Safety Solutions provides many techniques for customizing your
vocabulary. The
Vocabulary Builder™ feature analyzes your documents automatically to find
and add new words, specialized terms, acronyms, and proper names.
It's easy to add new
words/names/terms in batches or on-the-fly. You can also create or import custom vocabularies for
different specialties or interests. To hit the ground running,
consider contracting with IMAGE Management, your
NaturallySpeaking® provider, for initial vocabulary customization.

Perform complex tasks
on your computer with a spoken word or phrase
Develop custom voice commands (macros) to create documents, insert
boilerplate text, launch applications, fill-in forms, or automate complex
tasks with a spoken word or phrase. For example, a "Text and Graphics"
command can insert your name, title, and signature, or other text and
bitmaps into your document. An "Advanced Scripting" command, which uses
Microsoft® VBA-compatible scripting language, can automate complex tasks
or speech-enable application.
Who creates the commands? While Dragon
NaturallySpeaking® Public Safety
Solutions includes thousands of commands for commonly used tasks, it does
not include the many Public Safety macros that you will want!
Dragon NaturallySpeaking® Public Safety
Solutions does provide a vast ability to create custom voice
commands for you and/or your organization. The actual dictator,
an organizational technical staff person, or your ScanSoft
NaturallySpeaking® Applications Solution Partner, IMAGE Management, can
create your macros. Also, macros can be exported and shared with other
colleagues, if desired. To hit the ground
running, consider contracting with IMAGE Management, your
NaturallySpeaking® provider, for initial template/command/application
